Julio Franco is a back-up First Baseman now, and a routine pinch hitter, for the New York Mets. While these factoids might not seem impressive, he is still one of my favorite baseball players. Julio is currently the oldest regular position player in Major League history! Look at the picture below. Does that look like a near 50-year old athlete? No way! Julio has found a way to halt time and aging, and I have all the respect in the world for them. When I get home from work and I don't feel like training, there are a lot of inspirational athletes I think about to get myself going, and Julio is one of them. If he can continue to battle injury and come to the park day in, day out, at nearly 50 years old, then I can surely walk down the stairs and hit a solid workout in my basement gym!
Keep going Julio Franco! I am behind you all the way.
Here are a couple of Julio Franco links for you to enjoy:

Speaking of your basement gym, what sort of setup have you got?
