Pull-up Variations

This is a video from Smitty that shows a variety of pull-up variations. These variations will trigger some serious growth in your lats, rhomboids, traps and delts. Your posterior chain will never have felt like this after doing these combinations.

Club Swinging in the House of Power

This clip has some excellent footage of legitimate club swinging.

The music is phenomenal - "Barra, Barra" By Rashid Taha.

I love the pressing at about 48 seconds. According to a post by Zgros, "It does the core, shoulders and chest. They are meant to be shields. This came about during occupation, when Iranians were not allowed to learn martial skills, so they learnt masquarading as a sport."

I found this video here.

They feature a few images from Encyclopedia of Indian Physical Culture, Edited by D.C.Mujumdar, Baroda: Sree Ram Vijaya Printing Press, 1950. Pages 566-601.

New Product at FBBC!

This is the latest update from John at Fat Bastard Barbell Co.:

Got an email from RB & the grippers start production today. They'll be done Sept 8. He's shipping a box via air as soon as they're done & the rest will come via slow boat 3-5 weeks (took 3-4 weeks for the last shipment). So as of today (since we'll have the first ones in about 2 1/2 weeks, I'll start taking pre orders. There are only 100 of each in the first set, if we go through these really fast & more are needed, I might do a second run, but am planning on doing 2 different strengths (that RB doesn't make). The handles of the 280 have FBBC on one handle and "HARD" on the other. The 400 has FBBC & "SUPER" on the other. I left off "BASTARD" to not block some folks from buying.

    The current ones are FBBC/RB 280 (HARD), FBBC/RB 400(SUPER)

Pricing - $39 each, or both for $75
USA - $6 for one or both
Canada - $9 for one or both
the rest of Earth - $11 for one or both

I'll have the rest of the info & pics of the handles up in the next few days.
Check for updates Here.

Who Has Lifted the Dinnie Stones?

David Horne has pointed us to a page that documents every strength athlete and enthusiast known to have lifted the Dinnie stones:

According to the site, David Webster weighed these mighty monumental stones in 1956 at 435-lbs (187-kgs) & 340-lbs (154-kgs) for a total = 775-lbs (352-kgs). In 1998m Gordon Dinnie weighed them at 413-lbs (187-kgs) & 321-lbs (146-kgs) Total = 734-lbs (333-kgs). The reason of the drop in weight is probably due to people dropping them and chipping shrapnel off of them, as you can see took place in this video by Team Riot. Nice song by Coal Chamber here. Not sure if they were added to the official list, however, because lifting straps were used as a gripping aid.

Congrats to Bert Sorin

Bert Sorin won the World Championship of the NASGA.
